An example. Elena Vasari is a fictional designer; this is what a designer’s room looks like.

Casa sul Lago
The briefOpen the house again for three generations, and keep it quiet.
The family had closed the house after the grandmother died and kept it that way for ten years. The brief was to open it again without making it new. The walls were taken back to lime plaster the colour of wet sand; the floors were cleaned and oiled, not replaced. Every room was given one wall with nothing on it until the right painting was found, and the furniture was chosen last, low and plain, so that the windows and that one wall carry the room.
