Artist Agreement
Last updated · 16 June 2026
For the artists who hang on our walls. This adds to the Terms of Service the few things that matter when your work is shown and sold — your rights, your share, your control.
01Scope
This Artist Agreement supplements the STENDHAL Terms of Service and applies to anyone who is invited to exhibit or sell work on the Platform as an artist ("you"). Where this Agreement and the Terms conflict, this Agreement governs for artist-specific matters.
02Your works & rights
You retain full ownership of and copyright in every work you submit. Nothing here transfers ownership to STENDHAL.
You grant STENDHAL a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and promote your works for the purpose of operating and marketing the Platform — including thumbnails, previews, editorial features, and social media. This licence ends a reasonable time after a work is removed, except for copies already distributed in marketing.
You warrant that you created the works (or hold all necessary rights), that they are original, and that they do not infringe the rights of any third party.
03Listing, authenticity & provenance
You are responsible for the accuracy of every listing — title, year, medium, dimensions, edition, condition, and provenance. You must not misrepresent authorship or authenticity.
You agree to sell only works you are legally entitled to sell, free of undisclosed liens or competing claims.
04Packing and delivery (DRAFT, needs legal review)
DRAFT, needs legal review. You pack each sold work to the packing standard STENDHAL sets out, ready for collection. The courier is quoted and booked through STENDHAL's shipping partners (Arta or Easyship), the buyer pays for it, and every delivery is insured. You are responsible for damage caused by inadequate packing.
05Pricing, the 77/23 split & payouts
You set your prices. On each sale facilitated by the Platform, you keep seventy-seven percent (77%) of the sale price; STENDHAL retains a twenty-three percent (23%) Resonance Commission, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Payouts are made to your designated account after the sale settles and any return window closes, following the schedule shown at the point of sale. Payment processing is paid by the buyer at checkout; nothing is deducted from your seventy-seven percent for it.
06Taxes
You are responsible for determining, collecting where required, and remitting any taxes applicable to your sales, and for your own income-tax obligations. STENDHAL may collect tax information and withhold where the law requires.
07Exclusivity & removal
Your relationship with STENDHAL is non-exclusive unless you agree otherwise in writing — you may show and sell your work elsewhere.
You may remove a work from sale at any time, subject to honouring transactions already in progress. STENDHAL may remove works that violate the Terms, this Agreement, or applicable law.
08Termination
Either party may end this Agreement at any time. Completed sales, payout obligations, and the licence needed to wind down marketing already in circulation survive termination.
